Ikeja LG Boss Hosts LASPARK Management Team On Green Environment Collaboration

The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), yesterday received the management team of the Lagos State Parks & Gardens Agency (LASPARK) led by its General Manager, Mrs. Adetoun Popoola (née Nelson), at the Ikeja House.
The visit was aimed at strengthening collaboration between the Agency and Ikeja Local Government towards advancing environmental sustainability and promoting a greener, cleaner Ikeja.

In her remarks, the General Manager outlined the aims and objectives of LASPARK, emphasizing the Agency’s commitment to developing green infrastructure, maintaining parks and gardens, and promoting tree planting across the state. She further revealed LASPARK’s ambitious vision to plant 25,000 trees across Lagos State between now and July 14, 2026.

Mrs. Popoola noted that Ikeja holds a special place for her and assured the Chairman of LASPARK’s readiness to ensure that the capital city takes a leading role in environmental beautification and green expansion. “Ikeja is home for me, and we are ready to go all the way to make sure Ikeja stands out in achieving a greener environment,” she said.
Responding, Chairman AKOD appreciated the General Manager and her team for the visit and warmly welcomed them to Ikeja House. He reiterated the administration’s readiness for the collaboration, stating that the vision and mandate of LASPARK align strongly with the environmental component of the I.K.E.J.A Agenda. He affirmed that Ikeja Local Government will fully support efforts aimed at promoting environmental sustainability and enhancing the beauty and livability of the community.

In attendance at the meeting were the Vice Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Hon. Abisola Omisore; the Head of Department, Environment; and the Chief of Staff to the Chairman, Chief Adeyi Adeniyi.
