Ikeja LG Women Participate In The 5th Edition Of The Annual Lagos Women Run

Women from Ikeja Local Government yesterday actively participated in the 5th edition of the Annual Lagos Women Run, an initiative of Gym Assured and MARRCOM Marathon and Road Race Company, organized in partnership with the Lagos State Government and other women-focused organizations.
The event, which continues to promote fitness, health awareness, and women empowerment, attracted participants from across the state, including a strong contingent from Ikeja Local Government.
The Department of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation (WAPA) in Ikeja Local Government, under the leadership of its Head of Department, successfully mobilized women from various communities to join the marathon, demonstrating unity, strength, and the spirit of healthy living.
Before their departure to the event venue, the Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), joined the women at the Ikeja House, where he commended their enthusiasm and participation.
Comrade Dauda assured the women of his continuous support for initiatives that promote wellness, inclusion, and gender empowerment, noting that such programmes are in line with the I.K.E.J.A AGENDA, which emphasizes Inclusion, Knowledge, Empowerment, Justice, and Accountability.
The women expressed appreciation to the Chairman for his encouragement and continuous support for activities that uplift and empower women across Ikeja.
