One of the strategic institutions of the Federal Government is the Fiscal Responsibility Commission, which was established by an Act of the National Assembly, 2007.

This very economic-driven Commission was proactively instituted to provide for prudent management of the Nation’s resources, ensure long term macro-economic stability of the national economy, serve greater accountability and transparency in fiscal operations within the  medium term Fiscal Policy Framework.

The Fiscal Responsibility Commission has mandate under the enabling ACT to:
1. Compel any person or government institution to disclose information relating to public revenues and expenditures; and
2. Cause an investigation into whether any person has violated any provision of this ACT.

Following his nomination by President Muhammadu Buhari as Chairman of Fiscal Responsibility Commission, and subsequent screening and confirmation by the Nigerian Senate, Chief Victor Muruako, ever since that  legislative grilling has assumed office in that capacity.

An astute Administrator and boardroom political strategist, the Imo born Chairman of FRC, Victor Muruako, within a short space of two weeks demonstrated capacity and leadership direction as a man who knows his onions in any given assignment,  especially one that has to do with probity, accountability and transparency having held public trust in Imo State in the time past.

Therefore, the leadership of the Imo State House of Assembly under Rt. Hon. Paul Emeziem and Rt. Hon. Amara Iwuanyanwu; led  members of the House to the Asokoro Abuja Head office of the Commission, in total solidarity of one of their own, who deservedly got such high profile appointment by the President to serve the Nigerian people.

The elated Chairman of FRC, Chief Muruako, could not hide his joy to be so honoured by the leadership of the Imo State House of Assembly.
