Imo Deputy Gov, Prof Njoku Hails Ulakwo Elite Circle Club

The Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prof Placid Njoku, has commended members of the Ulakwo Elite Circle Club in Owerri North LGA over their ability to come together and organize themselves for the development of their community, just as he called on them to articulate the needs of the community and present to him through one of their sons and a key supporter of the administration, Chief Henry Njoku (Harritex).
Prof Njoku said he will hand the demands to the Governor and follow up on it to ensure they received attention. The Deputy Governor dropped this cheering news during the annual gala night of the Club held at the residence of Chief Ben Mbonu in Ulakwo on the 3rd of January 2021.
The Academic and former Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Agriculture, Umudike, Abia State, said he was impressed with the objective, the personalities and the level of organization of the event and declared that if the activity will come up next year, that he will encourage the Governor to attend. He used the opportunity to call on the Elite Club members to partner with and support the administration of Governor Hope Uzodinma, saying he means well for the state and will take his development programmes to all parts of the state.
President of the Club, Mr. John Ekeanya, stated that the organization is strictly tied to its original objective of making Ulakwo a master piece. He thanked the Deputy Governor for finding time to be part of their event and conveyed the gratitude of the entire Ulakwo people to him. Ekeanya further expressed the appreciation of the people of the community over the fruitful relationship of the administration with one of their illustrious sons, Chief Henry Njoku (Harritex), whom he said has facilitated the appointment of some Ulakwo indigenes into the government.
In his remark, Chief Henry Njoku thanked the Deputy Governor for sparring the time to honour their invitation at such a very tight period, describing him as a perfect gentleman, who walks his talk. He thereby conveyed the support of Ulakwo people to the administration of Governor Uzodinma, pointing to several developmental strides of the Governor in the state.
Speaking to newsmen, Chairman of the Planning Committee, Comrade Hector Nnadi (JP), recalled that the vision of the Club is to transform Ulakwo and make it a master piece, hence he urged fresh members to endeavour to internalize the concept and work in tandem with the established path of conduct of the Club. Nnadi assured that next year’s event will be an improvement on the immediate past, stating that he was satisfied with the planning and execution of the programme, whereof he used the medium to thank all the Sub Committee members, who worked with him to achieve the result.
The Deputy Governor attended the event with some Government officials.Among the members of the Club and dignitaries that graced the occasion included Nze Alphonsus Nnadi (Wasco), Chief Collins Eke, Felix Madukwe, Prof Jude Ohaeri, prof. Anthony Okere, Eziada Stella Orji, Peter Ihenacho, Chido Ihenacho, Barrister Kingsley Nnadi, Mr. Tony Moses Nnadi, Hon Dan Ikpeazu and Engr. Lams Ibe.
