Imo Deputy Speaker, Amara Iwuanyanwu Lauds Onwuzurike For Bagging Gold Medal At World U-20 Athletics Championship

The Honourable Member representing Nwangele Constituency in the Imo State House of Assembly; Imo Deputy Speaker and Chairman House Committee on Youth, Sports & Entrepreneurship, Rt. Hon Amara Chyna Iwuanyanwu, has joined the mass of the members of his Constituency, the good people of Imo State and the rest of Nigeria to warmly congratulate Mr. Udodi Onwuzurike, for making the nation proud at the just concluded World Athletics U-20 Championships in Nairobi, Kenya, as he clinched a gold medal in the 200m Sprint for men’s race.
The egghead State Legislator, Iwuanyanwu, made this known when he called to register his heartfelt congratulatory message to the gold medalist and a member of his Constituency, Onwuzurike, who hails from Abba Community in Nwangele LGA, Imo State.
The State legislator and Chairman House Committee on Youth & Sports, Amara Iwuanyanwu, in his statement maintained that, ”the award winning athlete, Udodi Onwuzurike, demonstrated resilience and the ‘can-do spirit’, which could be found among many young Nigerians, while calling on the Federal Government to pay adequate attention to sports development geared towards harnessing the energy of young people for positive social engagement and national productivity as exemplified by Team Nigeria at Nairobi 2021.
Rt. Hon. Amarachi Chyna Iwuanyanwu however, hailed Udodi’s father for being one of his greatest fans and also for throwing the weight of his support behind his son’s early athletic career growth and development.
He also advised Governments at all levels on the urgent need to resuscitate school sports competitions in their extra-curriculum activities as many great talents footballers and Olympians were said to have been discovered during such competitions at early stages.
