The member representing Nwangele Constituency and Deputy Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Amara Iwuanyanwu, KSC, has an unusual breadth of perspective in articulating ideas, programmes and projects that directly affect very positively on the mass of  members of his constituency

In what came rather as a total surprise to many, especially the over 150 people who benefit from  the regular monthly payment of salaries at the Umuorlu Isu Constituency office of Rt. Hon. Amara Iwuanyanwu yesterday’s exercise was quite exceptional as beneficiaries of the brand new HiSense deep freezers were all smiles when their names were called upon by the DG of Nwangele Project, Chief Paul Duru, to be handed over the gifts with a start-up cash donation to stock their freezers as the Christmas season approaches.

The choice of buying the freezers according to Chief Paul Duru, was taken by the House member after receiving passionate appeals from owners and operators of bars across the LGA in order to help them in the ease of doing business.

It was authoritatively gathered by this writer that a number of the lucky beneficiaries of the deep freezers were men and women of Nwangele LGA, who put their  businesses on hold as they demonstrated commitment, made sacrifices and toured the length and breadth of the 11 wards to rigorously campaign for Amara Iwuanyanwu even without asking for immediate gratifications.

Their demands were simple and  honest. They asked for ‘fairly used’ refrigerators to enable them boost their pepper soup joints and bar businesses as a number of them were selling drinks with just coolers and ice blocks.

Surprisingly, Rt. Hon. Amara Iwuanyanwu did not only buy ‘tear rubber’ deep freezers for them, but also gave out cash donations to energize these businesses.

The lucky beneficiaries included:Nze Oliver Chukwukere (Ikpo), Mrs. Lucky Chinagorom, Lolo Doris Akum Onuoha, Mr. Ejima Emmanuel Ukaga, Mrs. Justina Obiajunwa, etc.

While empowerment comes in different forms, shapes and degrees, the lucky beneficiaries, who smiled home with deep freezers and cash donations worth millions of Naira, had  registered their appreciations,  and would always remember that Rt. Hon. Amara Iwuanyanwu  touched their businesses very positively through those gifts.

Coming immediately after that singular exercise, was the payment of monthly salaries of the 150 SAs under the payroll of the House member, Sir Amara Chyna Iwuanyanwu, at a time when the country is experiencing economic crunch occasioned by the lockdown during COVID-19 pandemic, and later the  #EndSARS peaceful protest.

Nevertheless, a number of the men and women, who spoke to this reporter after receiving their gift items expressed unreserved happiness for being counted among the lucky beneficiaries as they described the Deputy Speaker, Amara Iwuanyanwu, as a leader who keeps to his promises without noise.

The coming weeks and months beam with rays of hope as another set of Nwangele  beneficiaries are on the awaiting list to be rewarded for their diligence, commitment and show of support to both the House member and the 3Rs Mantra of the Sen. Hope Uzodinma led Shared Prosperity Government.

Indeed, with Capacity in Nwangele LGA Shared Prosperity is assured !
