The Accord Party governorship candidate for the much talked about November 11, 2023 election in Imo State, Ikenga Johnjude Okere, has made it apparently clear that when elected, his government would provide quality and affordable healthcare delivery.

Ikenga Okere said the age long axiom, “health is wealth”, is absolutely truth and nothing but the truth. He therefore, promised to bring about innovations and new modern applications in the healthcare services made possible by improved technology and science.
Among other things, the Ngor Okpala business mogul turned politician observed that the idea of patients using the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) as a first point of complaints, was not in any way encouraging and must be stopped.
He rather pointed out that the FMC was established as a referral centre for medical cases only specialists could handle and attend to. Therefore, the Accord party candidate noted that when elected in November 11, he would ensure that the various health centres scattered across the state were  rehabilitated, and experienced health workers employed.
Okere stressed that the normal process in the primary healthcare delivery system, was for patients to report to the health centres, first. Then, if the centre was unable to handle thier cases, they would head for a general hospital for advanced attention. In case the general hospitals were also incapable of solving the challenge, it was at that point a visit to FMC would become inevitable.
Based on the foregoing, Ikenga Johnjude Okere vowed to put in place a standard, qualitative and state – of – art healthcare system that would, from the primary stages, tackle all medical situations in the state.
