Insecurity: Thank You Mr. President, Patriotic Nigerians Commend You

Posted on December 15, 2025

Leadership entails prioritizing the wellness, security, and safety of followers. It was South Africa’s apartheid hero and former president, Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela who quipped that, a leader steps forward in times of danger – in times of trouble. Leadership is tested during difficult times in the life of a nation. The ability, in this case of a leader to show capacity at a time it is needed most, is an indication of the belief of the followership in such leader (ship).

In recent times, the country – Nigeria has had to face some not-too-palatable experience in insecurity upsurge, with sporadic increase in kidnap cases by armed bandits in what could be described as coordinated attacks to push a narrative. However, undaunted in his resolve as the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR rose up to the occasion by taking decisive actions that have now, in a space of few days, resulted in massive wins for the country.

The continuous release of Nigerians held in captivity by these soulless individuals is a pointer to the undeniable fact that Mr. President takes the lives of ordinary Nigerians and their property very seriously. President Tinubu has shown capacity by all standards and metrics. He has shown himself as one leader who does not just sit back and wait for someone else to fix things. He will personally supervise that result is achieved. This is because Mr. President knows the bulk stops at his desk. Hence, his decision to personally coordinate and oversee the recent rescue efforts.

As a people-centric leader, man whose leadership credo is always about people’s welfare, his recent directive that police officers attached to VIPs and VVIPs be redeployed to their original purpose of employment – to protect ordinary citizens and their properties, we, as a group, believe is highly commendable. It is another reason why we will continue to reinforce our support for Mr. President – his personality, what he stands for, as well as his government and leadership. President Tinubu, as a thinker and a doer, has never let the people down. He will not do that now. Mr. President knows feedback is a very rare gift. He values feedback and is always open to ideas from the public.

The Tinubu Support Group (TSG), whose leadership I currently occupy, seizes this medium to express, on behalf of other patriotic Nigerians, our profound gratitude to Mr. President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces for making the security of ordinary Nigerians a top priority on his agenda. We will continue to show our support and offer useful advice where and when necessary. We believe God on his side, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, will succeed in putting Nigeria on the path of progressive leadership with shared prosperity.

May President Tinubu succeed against all odds

Dr. Umar Tanko Yakasai
Director-General
Tinubu Support Group (TSG)
