The Inter-Party Advisory Council in Cross River State has rejected the police officers to be posted to the state for election duties.

The Chairman of IPAC in the state, Anthony Bissong, made this known during a media briefing in Calabar on Wednesday.

Bissong who alleged in speech that there are plans to rig the election in the state, called on the Inspector General of Police, Alkali Baba to redeploy the officers already penciled down for election duties in Cross River.

According to Bissong, “We are, therefore, calling on the Inspector General of Police to immediately review the list of officers due to be posted to Cross River State for election duties.

“We call on Cross Riverians to be vigilant because democracy and free and fair elections are about to be tested in the forthcoming elections.”

He insisted that he is still the authentic state Chairman of IPAC, following the proclamation by some members of the group that he has been removed as Chairman.
