IPOB: South East Governors To Cage Kanu Over Arrogance
CYRIACUS IZUEKWE

There are strong indications that the SouthEast Governors may cage the leader of the IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu over his alleged arrogance and insistence of Nigeria’s breakup to realise the Republic of Biafra.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the meeting between Kanu and governors failed woefully after Kanu displayed what the governors described as gross arrogance and attempt to hijack the Igbo leadership through his group and render the governors redundant.
It was gathered that the governors have now resolved to cage and demobilise him from Igbo land and probably deliver him to the Federal Government for prosecution and imprisonment. Sources privy to the meeting said that the governors earlier had soft spot for him except two governors who had seen him as serious threat to their authority in their states and made moves to curtail him.
The governors had hoped that when they invited Kanu for the meeting, that they will be able to convince and persuade him to discard Biafra agitation and embrace restructuring. It was learnt that Kanu not only shocked the governors but he practically embarrassed them in the presence of his father. He reportedly told them that their demands were not acceptable and he was more popular than the governors put together in the SouthEast.
The meeting which was attended by Kanu’s father and some prominent Igbo leaders reportedly ended abruptly and the governors felt slighted because of his actions. It was also gathered that Kanu threatened the governors and declared that there will be no elections in Igbo land including the upcoming Anambra governorship election until his wishes were complied with.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the two governors that stayed away from the meeting knew that Kanu will disgrace the governors because of previous encounters with him. It was gathered that the governors have resolved to cage and equally ensure that he and his group were no longer relevant in Igbo land.
“The governors have decided that they will rally support for the Anambra governorship election and give every necessary support to the Federal Government to ensure that the election succeeds on November 18.”
It gathered that the governors have decided to ensure that any person identified to be supporting Kanu will no longer be tolerated in their states. They agreed that if eventually the court revokes his bail condition, they will make it difficult for him to see any person to stand for him because he did not appreciate that the governors worked behind the scene to get him released on bail.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that Kanu’s frequent use of abusive language against some prominent Igbo leaders had made him unpopular among the elites and they were skeptical about his agitation for Biafra.
“How can Kanu succeed when he has virtually insulted prominent Igbo leaders who were masters in every aspect of life both within and abroad” the source said.
