It Was A Great Experience Playing Against Remo Stars – Says Raheem Salaudeen

Posted on June 19, 2024

The youngest player of Buruj Football Academy, Raheem Salaudeen, has shared his thoughts on the game and his performance after a challenging 5-0 defeat in a friendly match against Remo Stars Football Club.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the match was a significant experience for the young midfielder, who donned the number 10 jersey.

The talented Raheem, while acknowledging the tough competition posed by the older and more experienced Remo Stars, admitted that the game was very demanding.

The first half saw Buruj holding their own, managing to keep the scoreline at 0-0. However, the second half proved to be more challenging as Remo Stars took control, leading to a final score of 5-0.

“It was very tough because they are by far better than us. We tried our best in the first half and we were able to hold it at 0-0 but in the second half, we lost total concentration, so we lost 5 -0.” Raheem said.

Raheem candidly discussed his performance, stating that he felt he did not meet expectations. He mentioned that the team lost concentration in the second half, which allowed Remo Stars to dominate the game. He observed that Remo Stars effectively contained Buruj in their half, taking control of the wings and midfield, which stifled Buruj’s operations.

The young midfielder noted the need for improvement in several areas, particularly in attacking techniques.

Despite creating chances in the first half, Buruj was unable to capitalize on them, which Raheem attributed to a need for better execution and technique.

Reflecting on his performance, Raheem rated himself a five out of ten, expressing dissatisfaction and the belief that he needed to do more.

He acknowledged that while the experience was valuable, there is significant room for improvement, particularly in maintaining concentration and enhancing attacking play.

The friendly match against Remo Stars, despite the loss, provided valuable insights for Raheem and his team.

It called attention to the importance of maintaining focus and improving technical skills, especially when facing more experienced opponents.

Raheem’s analysis highlights a commitment to growth and a determination to perform better in future matches.
