John Onuigbo To Receive Most Impactful Young Person Of The Year Award

The AMTY award ceremony, scheduled to take place on 22nd March, 2025, at Stanel Dome in Awka, will honour John Onuigbo as the Most Impactful Young Person of the Year.

 

John’s award as the most impactful Young Person of the Year is in recognition of his work in revolutionizing science education in Nigeria.

 

As the CEO and co-founder of Foris Labs, John has pioneered the use of virtual reality and interactive simulations to bridge the gap in science learning. His innovative approach has ensured that students from all backgrounds can engage in hands-on science experiments, regardless of their location or socioeconomic status.

 

John’s impact extends beyond virtual science labs. As the CEO of Stemnovo Ng, he has worked with over 15 schools across Anambra State, introducing students to coding, robotics, artificial intelligence (AI), design thinking, and business development. His mentorship has led to remarkable achievements, including:

 

– Winning first place in the National Girls in ICT Competition (2024)
– Securing Global 1st Place in the World Affairs Challenge (2024)
– Achieving Global 2nd Place in the World Affairs Challenge (2023)
– Leading the Anambra State debate team to victory in the President’s Inter-Senior Secondary Schools Debate Competition (2022 and 2023)

John’s commitment to education, innovation, and youth empowerment has earned him numerous personal accolades, including:

– Global First Place Champion in the Stanford Longevity Design Challenge (2021)
– Africa Edtech 50 (2023, 2024)
– Shifters 100 Global Young Changemakers list (2024)
– Anambra Innovator of the Year (2023)

 

Through his work, John is reshaping science and business education in Nigeria, empowering the next generation of African leaders, and inspiring young innovators to compete on the global stage.
