Kogi Guber: I’m Not Contesting – Hon Faleke
MICHAEL AKINOLA
The Honourable member representing Ikeja Federal Constituency in the House of Reps and former Deputy Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Kogi State, Hon James Abiodun Faleke, has cleared the air over his purported interest in the gubernatorial election coming up later in the year.
In his reaction to the rumours making the rounds he said, “In the past few days, I have received phone calls from various people from Kogi State particularly from our brothers and sisters from the Eastern Senatorial District of the state on a purported meeting with my Leaders towards coming to Kogi State to contest for the governorship seat slated for November, 2019. I wish to say clearly that I was not in such a meeting”.
“I have just been reelected by the loving people of Ikeja Federal Constituency to represent the people for a record third term. My immediate preoccupation now is to join hands with all members of the 9th Assembly to elect Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila as the Speaker of the House of Reps come June 2019 by God’s grace.
I understand what the people of Kogi are going through now and let us continue to pray for God’s intervention and to touch the heart of the leaders in the state.”
“It is God that gives and takes power and I believe that at the appropriate time He will ensure the best for Kogi and APC. I appreciate the numerous calls and support and most especially from members of the Audu/Faleke political structure that laid the “golden eggs” and cannot even eat one good meal per day talk less of golden eggs. I share your pain!” Hon Faleke concluded.
