Kogi State University Student Arrested For Armed Robbery

A 32-year old student of the Kogi State University, one Alexander Oluwaseyi, has been arrested in Lagos for armed robbery after he joined other members of his gang in a failed operation.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that Oluwaseyi was rusticated from the school over cult activities; he went into full time armed robbery and formed a gang.
The suspect was arrested in Okota area of Lagos after he went for an operation with other members of his gang. The operation failed as the police intercepted and arrested the suspect while other members of his gang escaped.
This was confirmed by the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Imohimi Edgal, at the Police Command, Lagos.
The suspect was paraded with other suspects arrested across the state by the police.
During the parade, Edgal explained that Oluwaseyi was arrested after the police received information from members of the public that some armed bandits were robbing shop owners at Stop Saviour Street in Okota, Lagos.
The police boss said based on the information, the Police Intelligence Bureau and FSARS were jointly mobilized to the scene. He said when the robbers sighted the police, they took to their heels. However, the police were able to arrest Oluwaseyi who claimed to be a student of Kogi State University but was rusticated due to cult activities.
He said the police recovered from him one cut to size double barrel gun and live cartridges as exhibits.
Edgal hinted that the police were making ever efforts to arrest other members of the gang now at large and that the suspect will be charged to court for armed robbery.
The Police boss thanked members of the public for their cooperation with the police as he noted that the public had given the police the necessary information for successes the police had recorded.
