The young man, Kolade Johnson, who was shot dead by a police officer from the Anti-Cultism Unit in Mangoro area of Lagos while watching a football match, was buried yesterday amid tears.

The corpse of Kolade Johnson accompanied by a long convoy of family members, friends, and sympathizers was interred at Atan Cemetery in Yaba area of Lagos at about eleven in the morning after his younger brother, Dipo Johnson, performed the dust to dust rites by the grave side.

It will be recalled that the police authorities swung into action, arrested the alleged killer cop, Ogunyemi Olalekan, after the ugly incident. He was dismissed from the Force after internal disciplinary measures were taken and charged before the Court for reportedly shooting the young man.

Speaking at Atan Cemetary during the burial, Barrister Wale Ademoyejo, who is the family’s solicitor expressed confidence that Kolade’s case will not be swept under the carpet as the case is already in Court.
