Ladipo Market Trader, 23, Docked For Stealing Boss’ N400m Goods

A 23-year old Ladipo Market trader, Chisom Nduba, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly stealing his boss’ goods worth N400m and diverted the money.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at the Ladipo Market located at Mushin area of Lagos.
The arrest and arraignment of the suspect, Nduba, followed by the petition to the Commissioner of Police by the boss, Chibogu Agwaniru, over the missing items in the warehouse.
Thus, the operatives of the State Criminal Investigation Department,Yaba, Lagos, moved into action, arrested Nduba and detained him for interrogation over the alleged missing items.
During the investigation, the Police discovered that Nduba had been stealing the items since 2023 until 2024 when the owner conducted an internal audit and discovered that the goods were stolen.
The Police found him culpable after interrogation and consequently charged him before the Yaba Magistrate Court for conspiracy and stealing.
However, he pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Thomas Nurudeen, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. P.E. Nwaka, granted him bail in the sum of N2m with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned till 24th June, 2024, for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
