Police operatives from the Adamawa State Command have arrested a 20-year old housewife, Mrs. Caroline Barka, for allegedly killing her husband, Dauda Barka.
Mrs. Barka, a nursing mother, reportedly stabbed her husband with a knife during a squabble.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the lady may have angrily committed the dastardly act because her 38-year old husband was habitually keeping late nights, drinking, among other provocative issues.
It was gathered that the incident happened on Friday at Anguwan Tsamiya in the Madagali Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
Commenting on the alleged murder, the spokesperson for Adamawa State Police Command, SP Suleiman Nguroje, said that an argument ensued between the couple after the husband returned home late and drunk.
He said, “The Adamawa State Police Command on 22nd July, 2022, apprehended a 20-year old housewife, for stabbing her 38-year old husband to death”.
“The suspect, Caroline Barka, a resident of Angwan Tamiya, Madagali Local Government Area, engaged her late husband, Barka Dauda, in a fight following an argument that ensued between them after the deceased returned home drunk and fell on their one year old baby, who was in bed.”
“Angered by his drunkenness, habitual late nights and failure to provide basic necessities as a husband, the suspect and the deceased engaged themselves in a fight, which resulted to her stabbing the husband. As a result, he fell down unconscious and was later rushed to the hospital where he was confirmed dead.
The suspect was apprehended by the Police in Madagali Local Government following a report received from a relative of the deceased.”
Investigation so far revealed that the marriage between the suspect, Caroline, and the deceased, Dauda, is just two years old.
