The price of adultery is said to be fatal when one considers what happened to a 50-year old married man, Opeyemi Abiodun Ayeni, who picked a 22-year old lady for sex romp in a popular hotel in Lagos State.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the lady, Miss Vera Alex, allegedly drugged him in the hotel room, he became unconscious, slept off. She then collected his phone and transferred the sum of N544,000 to her friends account and escaped.
The incident happened in the hotel located at Akowonjo area of Egbeda, Lagos, where the victim, Ayeni, took her for the romp.
The suspect, Vera and two of her female friends, Chinecherem Faith,19 and Chizoba Ezedimbu, 23, who she transferred the money into their accounts have been arrested and charged for conspiracy and stealing under the Criminal Laws of the State.
Their arrest followed a petition to the Area Commander, Area M, Idimu, by the complainant, Ayeni, after he regained his senses. When he woke up from sleep and did not see the lady, he then checked his phone only to discover that all his money had been transferred to different accounts through his mobile phone.
Thus, the Police moved into action and traced Faith and Chizoba through their banks details. Upon their arrest, they confessed and mentioned their friend, Miss Vera. She was also traced, eventually arrested and detained at the Command for interrogation over the alleged criminal conduct.
During interrogation, it was discovered that the man, Ayeni, had disagreement with his wife over a failed supermarket business, which he opened for his wife. He then went out to a joint to drink and it was there he met Vera and they negotiated for sex romp till day break.
However, before they would embark on the romp, Vera requested to eat and he paid through his phone. While they were eating and drinking, she drugged his drink and he slept off before she transferred the money, kept his phone inside the hotel room and left.
After thorough interrogation, the Police found them culpable and subsequently charged them before the Ejigbo Magistrate Court for the alleged conspiracy and stealing.
They pleaded not guilty when they were arraigned.
The Prosecutor, Supol Benedict Aigbokhan, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since they pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that they actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. K. A. Ariyo, granted them bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and addresses verified.
They were remanded in custody at the Correctional Centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when they will perfect their bail conditions while the matter was adjourned till 6th June, 2023, for mention.
