Lady, 24, Slices Rival’s Nose During Squabble

Doctors at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), are now battling to save the life of a 20-year old young lady, Florence Etukudo, who had part of her nose sliced off by a 24-year old lady, Barbara Okoye, who claimed she had warned her earlier over an undisclosed disagreement

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Latunde Close, Ago Okota area of Lagos, where they reside with a woman identified as Mrs. Ojukwu. 

It was not certain what both ladies, including others who reside with Mrs. Ojukwu, were doing in her house as she refused to disclosed so.

However, the Police have arrested the suspect, Barbara.
According to the Police at Ago Okota Division, Barbara on 8th August, 2021, was said to have attacked the victim by cutting her nose with a sharp object and she bled profusely.

On the part of Mrs. Ojukwu, she reportedly took the victim to several hospitals but was referred to LUTH, where she had gone for surgical operations to save her life.

The matter was reported to the Police, who then arrested Barbara. After thoroughly interrogating her, the Police found her culpable and subsequently charged her before the Isolo Magistrates Court for injuring the victim.
She pleaded not guilty and told the Court that she has been paying the bills of the victim’s treatment since the incident happened and would want the matter to be settled amicably.

The prosecutor, Oje Uagbale, told the Court that the condition of the victim in the hospital is not yet certain to talk about settlement and the defendant should be granted bail to ascertain the stable condition of the victim, whose parents reside in the Eastern part of Nigeria.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. A.O. Akokhia, granted Barbara bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum and ordered her to be remanded in the Police custody pending when she will perfect her bail conditions.

The matter was adjourned till 6th September, 2021, while the defendant was taken to Police custody at Ago Okota pending when she perfects her bail.
