Lagos CP, Odumosu Welcomes New DCPs, Harps On Better Security

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Hakeem Odumosu, has welcomed the new Deputy Commissioners of Police recently deployed to the Lagos State Police Command, in his Ikeja office on Monday 18th January, 2021.
According to the report by the Lagos State Police Spokesperson, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Commissioner of Police after receiving the DCPs took out his time to brief and deliberate with them about the security challenges in the state and the need to harmonize the Anti Crime Strategies being put in place for better policing of Lagos State. He notified them of the need to synergize with other departments in the Command in order to form a strong bond in the discharge of duties.
The new Deputy Commissioners of Police are DCP Ahmed Kontangora, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Department of Operations, DCP Bassey Ewah, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Department of Finance and Administration and DCP Adegoke Fayoade, Deputy Commissioner of Police, State CID, Panti, Yaba.
CP Odumosu also charged them to sanitise their departments as laziness, unprofessionalism, misuse of power, drunkenness on duty, violation of human rights and inappropriate behaviours will not be tolerated in the Command. He further admonished them to improve on the already existing modern policing platforms in the Command.

In another development, the Lagos Police Spokesperson, CSP Olumuyiwa, confirmed the arrest of eleven suspected cultists, who had been terrorising Owode Elede, Agiliti, Maidan, Afinjuomo, all in Mile 12, Ketu area of Lagos State, on Friday 15th and Saturday 16th January, 2021, at different operations carried out by the Police operatives attached to Ketu Division of the Command.
The suspected cultists were 22-year old Yusuf Abiodun, 30-year old Jamiu Salami, 27-year old Dare Taiwo, Oluwatobiloba Aberaman, 18-year old Balogun Taofeek, 16-year old Samuel Owolabi, 39-year old Ejemina Godfrey, 22-year old Godwin Innocent, 29-year old Keneting Uduenga, 29-year old Ayeni Wales, and 22-year old Lekan Olajide.
Items recovered from them included one locally-made pistol with live cartridges, substances suspected to be Indian hemp and assorted charms.
The Police Chief, Hakeem Odumosu, reiterated his commitment to fighting cultism and other crimes within the state to stand still. He therefore, directed that the suspects be handed over to the new Deputy Commissioner of Police State CID, Panti, for further investigation.
CP Odumosu seized the opportunity to appreciate members of the public in the state for their support in providing intelligence and commitment in all ramifications to making policing easy in the state.
