A traditional monarch in Lagos State, the Onisiwo of Tomaro Abagbo, Tarkwa- Bay and its Environs, Oba Mohammed Adio Yussuff, has declared his support for the establishment of the Lagos State Neighborhood Safety Agency (LNSA) Marine unit.
Commending the Management of the Agency for the progress made in the last few years, Kabiyesi promised he would not hesitate to support the management as it continues to move the Agency forward.
He said, “When the security of a particular community is compromised, the whole State is in trouble.” Hence, he promised to look for suitable land along the creek for the Agency’s Marine Operations unit.”.
Earlier during the visit, the General Manager of the Agency, Prince (Dr.) Ifalade Oyekan, fisn, requested the support of Oba Yussuff on the citing of its marine components in the riverine areas of his kingdom.
Oyekan informed Kabiyesi of the intention of the State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu to rebrand the Lagos State Neighborhood Safety Corp to State Police standards in two years, adding that this was what informed the series of developments recorded in the Agency since he was appointed as General Manager.
He further stated that it is in light of the progress and projections that the Governor approved seven new units to professionalise the Agency for a more efficient Agency and to better meet its statutory mandates.
The General Manager said, “The government cannot do it alone, hence our soliciting for support from individuals, Companies, Stakeholders and all well-meaning concerns. Our mission to the Palace is to seek the support of Kabiyesi towards the citing of a forward base in your domain for our Marine and Deterrence Unit. Mr. Governor always appreciates the efforts of the traditional institutions in ensuring a safer and more secured Lagos and he will appreciate your support like always.”
