Lagos Ohanaeze Sets To Empower Widows As Groups Supports Chief Aguene As Authentic President

Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State led by its President, Chief Solomon Aguene, has concluded plans to empower widows in the 57 LCDAs in the state as more Igbo leaders, Ndi Ichie in diaspora led by Chief Robert Igwe, confirm Aguene as Authentic Ohanaeze President. 

 

P.M.EXPRESS reports as was disclosed by Chief Aguene during the Ohanaeze General meeting  held at the Secretariat located at James Robinson Street, Surulere area of Lagos.

 

The meeting, which was presided over by Aguene, was attended by prominent Igbo men and women including the chairmen of all LCDAs, traditional rulers and captains of industry among others.

Chief Aguene used the meeting to thanked Ndigbo and Ohanaeze for coming out enmass during the coronation of Eze Peter Asonye as Ezendigbo in Ibeji Lekki LCDA held in Surulere, Lagos, noting that the massive attendance on that day showed that Ndigbo have confidence in his leadership.

 

He also explained that the empowerment will be sponsored by Eze Peter Asonye who had earlier promised to partner with Ohanaeze to empower widows within the Ohanaeze led by Chief Aguene.

Eze Asonye also thanked Chief Aguene and members of Ohanaeze for their support by coming out enmass to attend his coronation, which demonstrated that Ndigbo unanimously gave him the Ezeship of Ibeji Lekki LCDA.

 

He explained his commitment to his earlier promise to empower the widows and stated that the empowerment will cut across the LCDAs in the State to reach many families as he had agreed with Chief Aguene to work out modalities for the  empowerment.

 

Eze Asonye urged Ndigbo to continue to support Aguene because he has the interest of Ndigbo at heart and there is every need to give him more support as the only Igbo leader in Lagos State.

 

Meanwhile, the President of Ndi Ichie in diaspora, Chief Robert Igwe, described Chief Aguene as the authentic Ohanaeze President and enjoined all the Igbo to continue to support him.

 

Chief Igwe, who was at the meeting, explained that they attended the last coronation ceremony of Eze Asonye with his members that cut across the States because they believed in Aguene’s leadership qualities and asked every Igbo person in Lagos State to support him.

The Chairman of all Chairmen of all LCDAs in Lagos State, Nze Edwin Egboka, reiterated the need to warn and take drastic action on those parading themselves as Ohanaeze Ndigbo across the LCDAs because the President, Chief Aguene, is not competing with any other group on who is the authentic Ohanaeze President in Lagos State based on the valid Court consent judgment.
