Lagos Shuts Popular Strip Bar ‘The Cave’, 5 Other Event Venues

The popular Strip Bar, The Cave already sealed

The popular strip bar on Joel Ogunnaike, GRA Ikeja, Lagos, The Cave has been shutdown alongside other nightclubs and event centres by the Lagos State Government.
According to a report by P.M.NEWS, the Shina Eddo-owned fun spot was shutdown by the officials of the Lagos State Ministry of Tourism Arts and Culture for non-compliance with statutory process of registration and payment of annual permits.
The Ministry officials led by the Head of Hotel Licensing Directorate, Ms Barbara Wey, also sealed the newly-renovated Club Vegas on Opebi-Sheraton Link Road; and popular 10 Degrees Event Centre in Oregun, Lagos owned by a PDP chieftain, Adedeji Doherty.

As the government begun clampdown on tourism and hospitality establishments with record of non-compliance with government’s law, the ministry also locked Balmoral and Yard 158 Party Halls situated along Kudirat Abiola Way, all in Oregun area of the state.

The team carried out a similar exercise with the shutdown of Haven Event Centre situated at Ikeja GRA for refusal to register the party and event centre after several notifications and contravention notices served by the State Government since 2012.

Another event centre sealed

According to Wey, the government has vowed not to relent in its effort to ensure all tourism and hospitality establishments in the State comply with statutory registration and payment of all dues and permits.

“All defaulting tourism and hospitality operators are enjoined to comply with the registration process and payment of all accrued dues in the State,” she said.
