Lagos Special Children Visit Teslim Balogun Stadium

Children of Ketu Special Children Centre, Agboyi Ketu, Lagos were at the office complex of the Lagos State Sports Commission inside the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere on a visit to have a feel of sports facilities in the state.

The special children led by the Principal Social Welfare Officer of the centre, Mrs Sokanlu Ajibola, were received by the Director General of Lagos State Sports Commission, Mr Adewunmi Ogunsanya, who first entertained the children in his office before they were taken round some facilities within the stadium complex.

Mrs Sokanlu told the DG that the children were at the Sports Commission to socialise with people outside their immediate environment.

According to her, the visit will have positive impact on the special children who were so excited seen bigger sports facilities which they have not seen before.

She said some of the children used to participate in one form of sporting activities or the other, as the authority of the centre used to expose them to regular outdoor activities.

“Some of them used to play with balls, run tyres and throw balls to each others while playing. These they enjoy doing at the centre. Our coming to the Teslim Balogun Stadium was a kind of sightseeing visit, ” Mrs Sokanlu said.

The Director General, Mr Ogunsanya appreciated the special children for the visit. He enjoined their handlers to use sporting activities as tools to bring happiness in the lives of the children.
