Police operatives from Ikotun Division of the Lagos State Command have started manhunt for a landlord, Mr. Ayeni Abiodun, over his alleged conduct by planting fetish objects suspected to be charms at his tenant’s door in order to scare and force him to move out without issuing proper quit notice.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at No. 39 Mamudu Bada Street, off Governor’s Road, Ikotun area of Lagos, where the tenant, Iyatse Joshua, rented an apartment.

According to the tenant, Joshua, the landlord planted the charms in front of his doors to scare him to move out so that he will rent out the apartment to another person, but he ignored and continued his normal business.

However, when the landlord realized that the charms did not achieve the purpose, he reportedly sent strange people, suspected to be thugs, which prompted the tenant to report to the Police over threat to life.

According to the tenant, he rented the apartment on 1st February, 2025 and his rent was yet to expire before the landlord started making moves to force him out from the house despite the fact his rent has not expired.

He explained that they had the issue of water, which the landlord had denied the tenants. When he approached him over the water supply,, he became angry and threatened to frustrate him and one other tenant.

He explained that apart from planting the charms and denying him water,  the landlord went ahead to construct a bakery right behind his apartment so that he will not have peace of mind in the compound until he moves out.

The tenant said that when the threat became unbearable for him, he went to Ikotun Police Division and reported the matter. The Police then went to invite the landlord but he fled and since then has been at large.

P.M.EXPRESS could not reach the landlord because efforts to reach him proved abortive.

However, Police sources at Ikotun Division confirmed that the tenant reported the matter and since then the landlord has not reported to the Police Station to explain his alleged conduct against the complainant.
