Lands Committee Chairmanship: Hon Kasunmu Thanks Constituents

Newly appointed Chairman, House Committee on Lands, Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Adedamola Richard Kasunmu, has expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the leaders and members of his Constituency for their continuous support. 
The Lawmaker representing Ikeja Constituency 2 at the Lagos State House of Assembly was announced as the Chairman, House Committee on Lands by Honourable Speaker, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa during plenary on Monday.
The Speaker, who emerged as the Chairman House Committee on Selection, also announce the appointment of 34 other Committee Chairmen.
Reacting to his new portfolio this evening, Hon. Kasunmu said,
“Firstly, I want to thank God Almighty the Author of all things. This is a call to greater service and it comes with a huge responsibility. Let me seize this opportunity to specially thank my leader and my boss, The able Speaker of Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa and all the leadership of this great institution for the confidence reposed in me. I also want to specially appreciate all my leaders and great people of Ikeja Constituency 2 for their continued support. The list is long and inexhaustible but permit me to single out my loving mother and leader, Chief Mrs. Kemi Nelson, Chief Funso Ologunde, Cardinal James Odunmbaku, Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, all our party leaders, men and women, who stood by me during our election earlier this year.
If they had not returned me to the House, this appointment wouldn’t have been possible, so I thank them and promise not to let Ikeja Constituency 2 and Lagos State down”.
Currently in his second term as a Member of the 9th Assembly of Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Adedamola Richard Kasunmu served meritoriously as the Chairman, House Committee on Youth, Sports and Social Development in his first term in the 8th Assembly from 2015 to June 2019.
During the period, he brought about a lot innovations in his work as the Committe Chair.
In 2017, he sponsored two (2) Executive Bills on Sports which led to the creation of Lagos State Sports Trust Fund and another bill giving the Lagos State Sports Commission the required legal footing. Hon. Kasunmu also functioned as a member of several other Committees in the House and was adjudged as one of the outstanding Committee Chairmen in the 8th Assembly.
In the previous Assemblies, the Committee on Lands was Chaired for many years by Hon. Osinowo, who served as Lagos State Lawmaker for 20 years before becoming a Senator mid 2019.
Hon. Kasunmu has handed over the Committee on Youth and Social development to Hon Ajani.
