LASPARK, Allianz Media Create New Garden In Ikeja

The Lagos State Parks and Gardens Agency (LASPARK), in collaboration with Allianz Media Ltd, have established a new Garden along Obafemi Awolowo Way, Alausa in Ikeja.

Speaking at the commissioning of the Garden, the General Manager of LASPARK, Mrs. Adetoun Popoola, said the newly beautified space will be known as “Alausa Scenic Garden”, revealing that the partnership that birthed the new garden is in line with the Agency’s drive on beautification and regeneration of open spaces to achieve a sustainable environment.

Popoola stated that the unveiling of the Garden underscored LASPARK’s commitment to a greener and healthier Lagos, stressing that the Agency will continue to promote landscaping and beautification as well as recreation and leisure according to its mandate.

Her words: “This accomplishment is an attestation to the power of collaboration between Allianz Media Ltd, LASPARK and the Lagos State Signage and Advertisement Agency (LASAA). Allianz Media Ltd is not in the business of beautification but they took up this project as a Corporate Social Responsibility. I hope that the space will be put to good use by the people within the community”.

Speaking further, the General Manager acknowledged that a beautiful environment is very important for the health and wellbeing of the citizenry, noting that the greener and healthier the environment, the fewer visits people make to the hospital.

She thanked Allianz Media Ltd for the partnership while also expressing gratitude to the LASPARK team that made the project a success, saying “There is an absolute difference between what the space is now and what it was before”.

In his speech, the Managing Director of LASAA, Mr. Adedamola Docemo, congratulated LASPARK and Allianz Media Ltd on the successful completion of the project, maintaining that the Garden has transformed the corridor for the immense benefit of residents in the community.

He urged LASPARK to replicate the same gesture across the State, expressing LASAA’s willingness to work with all parties in exploring advert opportunities available.

The Chairman of Allianz Media Ltd, Dr. T.O.E Ekechi expressed joy and excitement for his team’s involvement in the project, adding that people are now moving towards a greener and eco-friendly environment as a measure to mitigate the effects of climate change.

Noting that Lagos is ahead of others in terms of making policies to regenerate the environment, Ekechi emphasised that Allianz Media Ltd partnered with LASPARK on the project as a social responsibility function, urging other private organisations to emulate the same gesture by initiating environmental-friendly projects.
