Christians have been admonished to re-dedicate their lives to their faith so that they would make heaven.

Pastor Bisi Ojedokun of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) gave the advice while ministering during the Service of Songs held in honour of Deaconess Victoria Elo-Oghene Chinwuba (nee  Uti) in Lagos last Thursday.

The cleric who was one of several pastors that ministered at the  occasion reminded the gathering of the inevitability of death.

According to him “Death is imminent for everyone and for this reason we have to live a worthy life so that when our time comes we’re guaranteed a place in God’s kingdom”.

Pastor Ojedokun also charged the guests to emulate the late Mrs. Victoria Chinwuba who he described as a committed servant that served God with all her heart.

For the late Mrs Chinwuba, a former banker and entrepreneur, it was indeed a fitting farewell from her family, friends and the music department of the RCCG where she carved a niche for herself.

What could have been a solemn and heart rendering occasion was turned into a celebration of a lady who made a huge impact in the lives of many and the Church.

The tributes came in from home and abroad and from family members and friends.

From her elder sister,  Pastor(Mrs.) Beatrice Oguntubi to nephew Mr. Wilson Nakpoberuo, the music department of the RCCG and several others, the glowing tributes poured in torrents.

“We are not here to mourn her”, Pastor Omowummi Kalejaiye declared. “We are here to celebrate her exit to glory”.And celebration it truly was with the energetic performance from the musical group African Praise

An alumnus of the Yaba College of Technology, Deaconess Victoria Elo-Oghene Chinwuba started her banking career with Societe General Bank of Nigeria in 1978 after her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme. She rose to the position of a deputy manager before her voluntary retirement in 1997.

She also worked with Fayot Travel Agency as manager before venturing into private business from 2002. She died on February 10 in her Lagos home during a brief illness.

She was buried at Atan Cemetery in Yaba on Friday March 12. She was aged 66.
