Major General PP Malla Assumes Command As The 13th GOC 7 Division

The newly appointed General Officer Commanding (GOC) 7 Division /Commander Sector 1 Operation HADIN KAI Major General Peter Malla assumed command of the Division. The ceremony took place between Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar, who is now the GOC 3 Division Nigerian Army and Commander Operation SAFE HAVEN and Major General PP Malla at the Division’s Headquarters, Maimalari Military Cantonment.

The outgoing GOC in his valedictory address to troops of the Division, appreciated them for their efforts, commitment and charged them to support the vision of the new GOC. Additionally, he appreciated the COAS Major General TA Lagbaja for the opportunity given to serve as the GOC 7 Division. He equally expressed his gratitude to the out gone Theater Commander, Major General IS Ali for the sustained strategic guidance.

Similarly, in his maiden address Major General Peter Malla, who was hitherto the Commandant Depot Nigerian Army congratulated the outgoing GOC for the operational successes and laudable infrastructural development recorded during his tour of duty. Furthermore, he called for all hands to be on deck so as to clear the remnants of JAS/ISWAP terrorists within the Sector’s Area of Responsibility.

The major highlights of the handing and taking over ceremony included operational briefs and address to troops. Others are handing over of the Wolf Command Flag to the new GOC and lowering and hoisting of the old and new flags at the Quarter Guard signifying the end to an era and beginning of a new one.
