Man, 22, Arraigned For Inserting Finger Into Private Part Of Girl, 6

A 22-year old man, Ebube Ikeh, has landed in trouble in Lagos State for allegedly inserting finger into the private part of a 6-year old girl and she bled profusely. 
P.M.EXPRESS reports that he has been arrested and charged for the alleged sexual assault under the Criminal Law of the State.
The incident happened on 15th day of February, 2026, at lyabo Street, Sari – Orile Iganmu, Lagos, where they reside.
According to the Police, the suspect lured the victim to his apartment and inserted his finger into her private part. And while doing so, the victim started bleeding profusely and he was unable to control it.
The matter was exposed and the victim’s parents reported the matter to the Police in the area. The suspect was then arrested and transferred to the Gender Section of the State Command for interrogation over his alleged conduct against the victim.
After interrogation, the Police found him culpable and charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.
The charge read:
“That you, Ebube Ikeh ‘m’, on the 15th day of February 2026, at about 1720hours, lyabo Street, Sari – Orile Iganmu, Lagos State, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did sexually assaulted the victim ‘f’ 6years old, by inserting your finger inside her private part and the survivor’s private part consequently bled profusely in the process and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 261 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.
However, the Court did not take his plea after the prosecutor, Mr. Lucky Ihiehie asked the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice.
The presiding Magistrate, Mrs. M.O.Tanimola, ordered his remand in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP for legal advice.
The matter was adjourned for mention for the report of the DPP’s advice to be available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
