A 25-year old man, Chima Eze, has landed in trouble in Lagos State for allegedly dating two ladies, Princess Ugochi, 28 and Christiana Uzoma, 22, at the same time and it backfired.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that one of the ladies, Princess, later discovered that the man, Eze, had been collecting her money and giving it to the other on, Christiana and she handed them to the Police for prosecution.
The incident happened at Okota Road, Isolo area of Lagos, where they reside.
Both Eze and Christiana have been arrested and charged for conspiracy and stealing.
According to Police sources, the man, Eze, first met Christiana and dated her with the promise to get married to her before he met Princess and equally gave her false hope that he would get married to her.
Eze was said to have collected money from Princess and spent same on Christiana with the knowledge of Christiana until the whole thing got exposed.
When Princess initially discovered, she asked Eze who Christiana was and he told her that she was his sister and she believed him.
However,  trouble started after Christiana discovered that Eze was giving Princess too much attention. At that point, she used Eze’s number to warn Princess to stay away from Eze that he was her husband.
It was then that Princess realized that she was scammed as she checked and most of the transactions she made went into Christiana’s account.
The matter was reported to the Police at Isolo Division and the operatives arrested both Eze and Christiana and then demanded for the refund of all the money.
When they were unable to refund the money, they were consequently charged before the Isolo Magistrate Court for the alleged offence and they pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor,  Supol Oje Uagbale, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since they pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that they actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O.A. Akokhia, granted them bail in the sum of N100,000 each with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood.
They were remanded in custody at the Correctional Centre at Kirikiri town,, pending when they will perfect their bail conditions while the matter was adjourned till 15th December, 2023, for mention.
