Man, 28, Defiles Neighbour’s 5-Year Old Girl

A 28-year old man, one Morufu Salaudeen, has landed in trouble after he engaged his neighbour’s five year old girl in sex romp in Lagos.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Joblanso Street in Aboru area of Lagos where they reside.

The police alleged that the suspect, Salaudeen, lured the victim into his apartment, forcefully penetrated her and in the process injured her private part. Before he allowed her to go, he warned her not to tell anyone what happened.
However, the victim was unable to withstand the pains as a result of the forceful penetration when she was taken to the bathroom. Her mother then examined her only to discover that she was sexually molested and the victim mentioned Salaudeen’s name as the person behind the dastardly act.
The matter was reported to the Police and the suspect was arrested. He was later transferred to the Gender Section of the Police Command for investigation.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that Salaudeen initially denied but was speechless when the little girl narrated how he removed her pant and raped her.
The police found him culpable and charged him before the Ogba Magistrates Court for defilement.
However, the prosecutor, Supol E. Ayorinde, asked the court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice.
Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. B.O.Osunsanmi, did not take his plea and ordered him to be remanded in prison custody without an option of bail. The court also directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send to the DPP for advice.
It was gathered that the matter may be transferred to the High Court if the DPP finds him culpable and recommends his trial for defilement.
The defendant, Salaudeen, will remain in prison custody pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice as directed by the Court.
