Man, 30, Docked Over Killing Of 3 Siblings

A 30-year old man, Abubakar Usman, was on Thursday arraigned at Iyaganku Magistrate’s Court in Ibadan, Oyo State for allegedly killing three siblings.

P.M.EXPRESS reports as stated by the prosecutor, Philips Amusan, before the Court that the defendant killed the siblings, two minors and an adult, on 13th January, 2022, at about 5pm at Oke-Orogun area of Saki, Oyo State.

The prosecutor, Amusan, disclosed that Usman caused the death of the 13-year old, Abdullahi Abdulkadri, by inflicting cuts all over his body with a machete.

The defendant, Usman, on the same date, time and place, killed an 11-year old, Ismail Abdulkadri, with a machete

The prosecutor added that the defendant also used a machete to kill 30-year-old Bello Abdulkadri on the same date, time and place.

He added that the murder contravened Section 316 of the Criminal Code Laws of Oyo State, 2000 and is punishable under Section 319 of the Law.

The Court did not take Usman’s plea as the Presiding Magistrate, Abimbola Amole-Ajimoti, granted the prosecutor’s request for advice from the Oyo State Director of Public Prosecutions.

The Presiding Magistrate ordered the remand of Usman at the Abolongo Correctional Centre, Oyo, and adjourned the case till 15th March, 2022, for mention.
