Man, 30, Engages Neighbour’s Girl, 9, In Sex

A 30-year old man, Peter Jacob, has landed in big trouble after he was allegedly caught having sex with a 9-year old girl in Lagos.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Olatunji Oluwapupo Street, CMD Road, Lagos, where they reside.

The Police alleged that the suspect, Jacob, reportedly lured the victim into his apartment and had penetrated her before he was caught by their neighbours who suspected the victim’s movement to Jacob apartment.
The 9-year old victim was confronted and she opened up; she revealed how she was lured into the act by Jacob before they were caught.

The matter was reported to the Police in the area and the man, Jacob, was arrested. The suspect was later transferred to the Gender Section of the Police Command for interrogation where he denied.
However, the victim was brought before the man and she narrated how it all happened and he was speechless during the interrogation.
Having been found culpable by the Police, the man was charged before the Ogba Magistrates Court for the alleged offence.
The Court did not take his plea after the prosecutor, Supol Benson Emerhi, asked the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice because the victim was still a minor.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. Sule-Amzat, ordered Jacob to be remanded in prison custody without an option of bail.
The Court also directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send to the DPP for advice while Jacob will remain in custody pending the outcome of DPP’s report.
The matter may be transferred to the High Court if the DPP finds the man culpable and recommends that he should be tried for the alleged offence.
The matter was adjourned till 16th March, 2020.
