Man, 32, Arrested For Swindling Church’s General Overseer Of N9m

A cleric and General Overseer of the Beautiful God Ministry International Church, Pastor Moses Okoh, has been swindled in Lagos State to the tune of N9m by a 32-year old man, Seun Ayinde, who carted away the aluminum roofing sheets he bought to roof the church.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at the church’s premises at Beautiful God Street, Igbede area of Lagos, where the church is located.
The suspect, Seun, was later arrested and charged for stealing under the Criminal Laws of the State over his alleged conduct.
According to the Police, Seun went to the church in the early hours of the morning on the fateful day, stole the items, escaped to an unknown place and sold them for an undisclosed amount of money.
In the morning, when Pastor Okoh got to the church and discovered that the items were missing, he went to Ilembe Hausa Police Division and reported the matter hence the Police moved into action and arrested Ayinde and detained at the station for interrogation.
After thorough interrogation, the Police found him culpable and charged him before the Ojo Magistrate Court for the alleged offence.
However, he pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Supol Simeon Uche, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, L.K.J Layeni, granted him bail with two sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
