Man, 35, Arraigned For Defiling Neighbour’s Girl, 15, Armed With Knife

A 35-year old man, Kalu Uchendu, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly defiling his neighbour’s 15-year old girl by covering her mouth and using a knife to subdue her. 

 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on 26th day of August 2025, at about 2200hours, at Prince Rabiu Adio Street, Olodi Apapa, Lagos where they reside.

 

According to the Police, the suspect lured the victim into his apartment, forcefully closed her mouth and used a knife to threaten her. She became afraid and allowed him out fear for her life.

 

Having satisfied himself, he allowed her to go and warned her not to tell anyone about it. He threatened to deal with her if she reveals what happened between them.

However, the victim reported what happened  to her parents and the matter was reported to the Police in the area. The suspect was then arrested and transferred to the Gender Section of the State Police Command for interrogation over his alleged conduct against the victim.

 

The Police found him culpable after thorough interrogation and charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.

 

The charge read:

“That you, Kalu Uchendu ‘m’, on the 26th day of August 2025, at about 2200hours, at No. 11, Prince Rabiu Adio Street, Olodi Apapa, Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did defile one girl ‘f 15years old by covering her mouth, bringing out a knife to threaten her and forcefully having sexual intercourse with her and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 137 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.

 

The Court did not take his plea following a motion moved by the Prosecutor,  Inspector Lucky Ihiehie, asking the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice.

 

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. M.O. Tanimola, ordered his remand in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP for legal advice.

 

The matter was adjourned for mention for the report of the DPP’s advice to be available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
