Man, 35, Arrested For Inserting Fingers Into Girl, 12, Private Part

A 35-year old man, Kingsley Emmanuel, has been arrested in Lagos for allegedly inserting his fingers into the private part of a 12-year old girl in order to seduce her.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the girl resisted and raised alarm, which has landed Emmanuel in Correctional Centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, for sexual assault, an offence which attracts several years of imprisonment if he is tried and found guilty before the Court.

The incident happened at Jimoh Mohammed Street, Ipaye area of Iba town in Lagos State, where they reside. 

According to Police sources, the man, Emmanuel, lured the victim to his apartment and started fondling her body. In the process, he inserted his fingers into her private part in order to seduce her into a sex romp before the victim resisted and foiled his plans.

The matter was reported to the Police, who then trailed and arrested Emmanuel. He was later transferred to the Gender Section of the State Command. 

After interrogation, the Police found him culpable and subsequently charged before the Ogba Magistrates Court for sexual assault.

The Court did not take his plea after the prosecutor, DSP Kehinde Ajayi, asked the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice
Hence, the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. A. Ajibade, ordered his remand in Correctional Centre pending the outcome of DPP’s report.

The Court then directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send to the DPP for advice while the defendant will remain in custody pending when the availability of the DPP’s report, which will determine if the matter will be transferred the High Court or not over jurisdiction.

The matter was adjourned till 9th August, 2021 for report of the DPP’s advice to be ready.
