Man, 36, Defiles Girl, 13, After Fondling Her Breasts

A 36-year old man, Joseph Moses, has landed in trouble in Lagos after he allegedly lured a 13-year old girl into sex by fondling her breasts and getting her confused.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Kadiri Street in Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos, where they reside.

Th suspect, Moses, has been arrested.

According to Police source, Moses returned from work in the afternoon, lured the girl into his apartment, confused her with words of mouth, then fondled her breasts, she became more confused and could not put up resistance.She was eventually penetrated and thereafter, she regained her senses and raised alarm that she was raped by Moses.

The matter was reported to the Police at Isokoko Division and Moses was arrested and detained at the Station for interrogation.He was said to have admitted that he penetrated the girl but with her consent; the girl denied that she consented to the act.

After interrogation, the Police found Moses culpable because the girl was still a minor and charged him before the Ogba Magistrates Court for the alleged offence.

The Court did not take his plea after the prosecutor, Supol Bisi Ogunleye, asked the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice.
Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. E. Kubeinje, ordered his remand in Correctional Centre and directed the Prosecutor to duplicate the file and send to the DPP for advice.

The matter was adjourned till 25th November, 2020, for report of the DPP to be ready while Moses will be in custody pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice.

The case may likely be transferred to the High Court if the DPP finds him culpable and recommends his trial for the alleged offence.
