Man, 39, In Police Net Over S*x With Neighbour’s Girl, 10

A 39-year old man, Augustine Emejor, has landed in trouble in Lagos State after he allegedly lured his neighbour’s 10-year old girl with soft drinks and engaged her in sex romp for three days before it got exposed.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Alawode Close, Bayeku area of Ikorodu, Lagos, where they reside.

The suspect was said to have lured the girl and engaged her in sex from 29th November till 1st December, 2021, before the girl exposed him by informing her parents about what their trusted neighbour, Emejord has been doing to her.

The matter was reported to the Police in the area and he was arrested. He was later transferred to the Gender Section of the Command for interrogation over the act.

According to Police sources, he initially denied involvement before the girl was brought in and she confronted him and narrated how it happened. He then became speechless and ashamed of himself.

After interrogation, the Police found him culpable and subsequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrates Court for the alleged.

When he was arraigned, the Court did not take his plea following a motion moved by the prosecutor, Supol Victor Eruada, asking the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. M O. Tanimola, ordered his remand in custody and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to DPP while the matter was adjourned till 1st February, 2022, for the report of the DPP to be ready, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
