A 41-year old man, Chucks Ngene, has landed in trouble in Lagos State for allegedly inducing and drugging a 15-year old girl, she became unconscious and he then raped her.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at One Day Street, Ishuti Road, Igando area of Lagos State, where they reside.
It was gathered that the suspect, Ngene, allegedly lured the girl to an undisclosed apartment, administered noxious substance suspected to be hard drugs into her drink, she became unconscious and slept off.
He then removed all her clothes including her underwears and engaged her in sex. And having satisfied himself, he allowed the girl to go. She later regained her senses and reported what happened to her parents, hence the matter was reported to the Police at Igando Division.
Ngene was arrested and detained at the station for interrogation over the conduct. After thorough interrogation, he was found culpable by the Police and subsequently charged before the Ogba Magistrates Court for the alleged offence.
However, the Court did not take his plea when he was arraigned following a motion moved by the prosecutor, DSP Kehinde Ajayi, asking the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice.
Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. E. Kubeinje, ordered his remand in custody at the Correctional Centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to DPP.
The matter was adjourned till 11th April, 2023, for the report of DPP to be available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
