A 42- year-old man, Emmanuel Egbosimba, has been arraigned before the Ogba Chief Magistrate Court for allegedly repeatedly defiing his 19-year-old daughter for five years after his wife’s death in Lagos State.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at 29b, Olusesi Close, Ile Ewe Ejigbo, Lagos, from when the victim was 14 years at death of her mother.
The Police prosecutor, Philip Ademigbuji, told the court that Egbosimba committed the offence between 2020 and 2025 after his wife died.
According to the prosecutor, the father started molesting his daughter since the death of his wife and all efforts for the victim to free herself from her father failed as he threatened to kill her if she ever tells anyone.

Thus, the defendant was arrested and detained at the station for interrogation over his alleged conduct.
The prosecutor stated that the victim told the Police that the defendant sleeps with her almost everyday.
The offence, according to the prosecutor, contravened Section 260 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.”
The Court did not take his plea following a motion moved by the prosecutor asking the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr. L. A. Owolabi, ordered him to be remanded in custody to the correctional center at Kirkiri Town, Lagos, pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP for legal advice.
The matter was adjourned till 17th November, 2025, for the report of the DPP’s advice to be available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
