Man, 43, In Police Net For Biting Woman During Public Fight

A 43-year old man, Amadi Akudo, got what he did not bargain for when he engaged a woman, Onodakporoyere Veronica, in a public fight and she beat him mercilessly in Ago Okota, Lagos State.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that in order to free himself from her during the squabble, the man gave the victim, Veronica, serious bite on her fingers and injured her in the process.
Biting Veronica during the fight has landed Akudo in trouble as he has been arrested.
According to Police sources, the man had disagreement with the victim over an undisclosed matter which led to a public fight in the area.
During the squabble, Veronica was said to have surprised Akudo by giving him serious beating before he had opportunity, grabbed her fingers and inflicted injury by biting her.
The matter was reported to the Police at Zone D Command, Mushin; he was arrested and detained for interrogation over his conduct for biting the victim.
During interrogation, the man, Akudo, alleged the Police obtained N300,000 from him as bribe and the Area Commander asked him to bring proof, which he was not able to provide.
He was subsequently charged before the Isolo Magistrates Court for assault and false information.
He pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Adetutu Sanusi, asked the Court to give short adjournment for hearing to enable the Police to prove he actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. Olabisi Kusani, granted him bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.
He was remanded in Correctional Centre pending when he will perfect his bail conditions while the matter was adjourned till 9th October, 2021, for mention.
