Man, 45, Arrested For Raping Daughter

The Police in Ogun State have arrested a 45-year old man, Idowu Owolabi, for having an unlawful carnal knowledge of his 21-year old biological daughter (name withheld).

The suspect who lives at Papa Olosun area Of Oja-Odan with the victim was arrested on 28th January, 2019, following a complaint by the victim who reported at Oja-Odan Divisional headquarters.

She reportedly followed her father to the farm at Fagboun Village and her father forcefully had carnal knowledge of her right there in the farm. The incident happened sometime in March, 2018, and she stated that since then that her father had continuously been having unlawful carnal knowledge of her with a threat that he will kill her if she dared tell anybody about it.

Upon the report, the DPO of Oja-Odan Division, CSP Olayemi Jacob, led his detectives to the suspect’s residence where he was promptly arrested.

On interrogation, the 45-year old suspect who was said to have gotten married to three different women confessed to the commission of the crime but blame it all on devil.

Meanwhile, the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Iliyasu, has ordered the immediate transfer of the case to State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for proper investigation and possible prosecution of the suspect.
