Man, 45, Nabbed For Allegedly Defiling Daughter, 7

A 45-year old man, Solomon Samuel, has been arrested for allegedly engaging his 7-year old daughter in sexual activity by inserting his fingers into her private part.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Omirinde Street, Akowonjo area of Egbeda, Lagos, where they reside.

The suspect took advantage of the absence of the girl’s mother to molest her and warned her not to tell anyone what was going on between them.
He was said to have continued to molest the girl and at the same time failed to provide for both the victim and her elder brother thereby endangering their lives.

When the issue of not taking care of the children as punishment came out, the little girl then opened up on why their father was not feeding them yet will engage her in sexual activity.

The matter was reported to the Police and Solomon was arrested by the Police from Area F Command, Ikeja, Lagos.

He was found culpable after interrogation and subsequently charged before Ogba Magistrates Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment if he is tried and found guilty before the Court.

However, the Court did not take his plea after the prosecutor, Mr. Clifford Ogu, asked the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice.

Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mr. J.A. Adegun, ordered his remand in Correctional Centre at Kirikiri town in Lagos and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send to the DPP for advice.

The matter was adjourned till a later date for the outcome of DPP’s report to be known, which will determine if the matter will be moved to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
