Man, 45, Opts To Go To Prison Than Return N10m Electrical Wires He Stole

A 45-year old man, Ambrose James, has opted to go to prison in Lagos State than return the N10m Nigerian electrical wires he stole from the owner, Kenneth Odigie. 
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on 7th September, 2025, at No 15, Olu Akinyan Street, Ejigbo area of Lagos.
According to the Police, the suspect went where the items were kept, carted them away and went into hiding when complainant discovered the theft.
The matter was reported to the Police at Ejigbo Division. The Police operatives moved into action, eventually arrested the suspect and detained him at the station for interrogation over his alleged conduct.
The Police found him culpable after rounds of interrogation and consequently charged him before the Ejigbo Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.
The charge read:
“That you, Ambrose James, m’, on the 7th September, 2025, at about 1700hrs, at No 15, Olu Akinyan Street, Ejigbo, Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did steal Nigerian electrical wires valued Ten Million Naira (N10,000,000.00), property of one Kenneth Odigie ‘m’ and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 287 of the Criminal law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”
He pleaded guilty.
The prosecutor, Inspector Simeon Njue, then asked the Court to give a date for  facts and sentence since he pleaded guilty to enable the Court to sentence him accordingly.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. T.A. Popoola, ordered his remand in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, and adjourned the matter for facts and sentence.
