Man, 45, Sent To Prison For Fondling Breasts Of Biological Daughter,11

A 45-year old man, Tolulope Sonaike, has landed in trouble in Lagos State for allegedly pestering his 11-year old biological daughter to lure her into sex by fondling her breasts to seduce her. 

 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that he has been arrested and charged for indecently harassing his daughter by touching her breasts on three different occasions, which she rejected and eventually exposed him.

 

The incident happened at Ayipe Street, Shomolu area of Lagos, where they reside.

 

According to the Police, between February to June 2024, the man has harassed the victim three times by touching her breasts in order to seduce her which she had been bearing without exposing him.

 

However, when she was unable to bear the trauma, she opened up on what was happening to her and the matter was reported to the Police before the man was arrested and transferred to the Gender Section of the Lagos State Police Command for interrogation over his alleged conduct.

 

After interrogation, the Police found him culpable and charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.

 

Part of the charges read:

That you, Tolulope Sonaike, of Ayipe Street, Shomolu Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did indecently harass your daughter, 11 years by touching her breasts on three different occasions without her consent and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 263 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”

 

He pleaded not guilty.

 

The prosecutor, Supol Akeem Raji, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.

 

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. B.O. Osunsanmi, granted him bail with two sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.

 

The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
