A 47-year old man, Obed Chukwumezie, has landed in trouble after he was allegedly caught for using his finger to penetrate his neighbour’s 4-year old girl in FESTAC area of Lagos.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at 403 Road, C Close, House 43, in FESTAC town where they reside.

Police sources said the suspect, Chukwumezie, reportedly lured the victim, removed her pant, inserted his finger into her private part to in order to satisfy his sexual desire and was caught in the act.

The parents of the victim reported the matter to the Police at FESTAC Division; Chukwumezie was arrested and later transferred to the Gender Section of the Command.

After interrogation, the Police found him culpable and then charged him before the Ogba Magistrates Court for the alleged offence.

The Court did not take his plea after the prosecutor, Supol Ezekiel Ayorinde, asked the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice.

Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. B.O. Osunsanmi, ordered Chukwumezie remanded in prison custody without an option of bail.

The Court directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send to the DPP for advice. The matter was adjourned till 16th March, 2020.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the defendant, Chukwumezie, may be transferred to the High Court if the DPP finds him culpable and recommends his trial for statutory rape which attracts several years of imprisonment if he is tried and found guilty before the Court.
