Man, 48, Docked For Secretly Installing CCTV Camera In Lady’s Bedroom

A jealous man, Ubawuike Ikechukwu Joseph, has landed in trouble in Lagos State for allegedly secretly installing CCTV camera inside the bedroom of his mistress, Victoria Oliobi.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect, Joseph, has been arrested and charged for his alleged secret conduct inside the complainant’s bedroom without her consent.
The incident happened at No. 21. Ajewole Street, Ikotun, Lagos where the complainant, Victoria Oliobi resides.
According to the Police, the suspect bought the CCTV camera, secretly installed it inside the room when the lady was not around and started monitoring her activities.
The woman was wondering how the suspect got to know about almost anything she was doing in her bedroom whereas he was not with her. It went on for some time until she discovered the CCTV and the suspect admitted that he installed it there to monitor her.
The matter was reported to the Police at Monitoring Unit. The suspect was arrested and charged before the Ogba Magistrate Court for his conduct.
The charge read:
“That you, Ubawuike Ikechukwu Joseph, ‘m’ on or about the 15th day of June 2024 at about 03:00hours at Ajewole Street, Ikotun, Lagos in the Lagos Magisterial District, did conduct yourself in a manner likely to cause breach of peace by secretly installing CCTV camera in the bedroom of Victoria Oliobi ‘f without her consent and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 168 (d) of the criminal law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”
However, he pleaded not guilty.
The Prosecutor, Supol Philip Ademigbuji, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. Kusanu, granted him bail with two sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
