A 54-year old man, Lukmon Sanni, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly drugging his neighbour’s 15-year old daughter, forcefully engaging her in sex and injuring her private part.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Ile Bebe Aledo, Agbowa Ikosi – Lagos, where they reside.
According to the Police, the victim’s father reported to the Police at Agbowa Police Station. The suspect was then arrested and transferred to the Gender Unit, Lagos State Police Command, Ikeja.
The complainant alleged that his daughter was observed to be having difficulty in sitting down properly. So he called and asked her what was the problem. She said that something like water was coming out from her private part. The complainant stated that she eventually opened up and told him that one Mr. Lukmon gave her medicine to drink and after she drank it, she slept off and he had unlawful carnal knowledge of her.
After interrogation at the Gender Section, the Police found him culpable and charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence, which attracts several years of imprisonment.
The charges read:
“That you, Lukmon Sanni ‘m’, sometime in September 2025, at Ile Bebe Aledo, Agbowa Ikosi – Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did defile the victim ‘f 15 years old by forcefully having sexual intercourse with her and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 137 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”
However, the Court did not take his plea after the prosecutor, Inspector Lucky Ihiehie, asked the Court to give a date and refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. M.O. Tanimola, ordered his remand in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when the DPP’s report will be ready and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP for advice.
The matter was adjourned for mention for the report of DPP’s advice, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
