Man Arrested For Attempted Murder Of Deported Brother Over N15m

The police at Area M Command, Idimu have arrested a 42-year old man, Vitus Igwe Ikejiofor for allegedly defrauding and attempting to kill his deported younger brother, Kingsley Ikechukwu Ifejiofor over N15m he sent to him while abroad.
The incident happened at 20, Agbado Road, Ijaiye, Alimosho Local Government where Vitus resides with his family and where Ikechukwu stayed after he was deported.
According to Ikechukwu, he traveled to China in 2007 and was deported in 2015.
He said while abroad, he was sending both foreign currency and goods such as shoes, fridges, phones, and clothes to Vitus, who owns a boutique in Agege, for him to sell and keep the money for him.
He also said while overseas, Vitus told him of the sales he had made from those items and he asked him to keep the money until he comes back.
He said he later had problem while abroad and was detained for three years and thereafter deported back to Nigeria without anything.
He said when he returned he stayed in Vitus’ house until a day when he attempted to stab him with knife.
He fled and since then, had been homeless.
When P.M.EXPRESS contacted Vitus over the allegation, he admitted that Ikechukwu sent goods to him and since he returned he had been giving him some money when Ikechukwu pressed for the release of all his money.
He said the total amount he has given him was N240,000.
When our correspondent visited Area M Command in Idimu, Vitus was seen detained in the cell after he had written his statement.
The Area Commander, ACP Austines Akika could not be reached when our correspondent visited the command.
However, police source at the Command said Vitus will be charged to court after the conclusion of investigation.
